ICTM Math Contest at NIU

February 21, 2009

Region 13

6 a.m. Saturday: The contest is on as scheduled. You are urged to use caution and personal judgment in deciding whether to come to NIU and should not do so if you deem that travel will be hazardous. Please e-mail me or call my cell phone 1-630-263-1830 if you are not attending or are delayed.

  • The coordinator of the contest is Peter Waterman, (815) 753-6730.
  • Participating schools should submit the names of students and their contest assignments online at the ICTM web site by Noon, Friday, February 13.
  • As of Noon, Wednesday, February 18, it will be possible to make minor changes via this web site until Noon, Friday, February 20.
  • Print a copy of this roster and note necessary changes on the bus the morning of the contest.
  • Names of the presenter and helper in the Oral competition, along with the other competitions in which they are participating, must be e-mailed to Peter Waterman by February 8.
  • Any changes in those entries after February 8 will require his permission.
  • The schedule of Oral competition times will not be altered to accommodate those late changes.
  • Each Division AA school is expected to provide two adults, besides the coach, to assist the host institution with proctoring and administering tests. It is helpful, but not necessary, that they be mathematics teachers.
  • Please visit our regular Web server for other Math Department information, including directions on getting to NIU.
  • You should park in either the Field House parking (Lot 20), Lot 38 or the Pay Lot (which will be free) as on the parking map. Do not park in a reserved spot!
  • Please remind your students that they are guests here and proper behavior is expected.
  • Coffee and donuts will be available for the coaches and proctors in DU328.
