Exploratory Time Series Analysis

Abstract: Graphical methods play a fundamental role in the exploratory analysis of time series data and in this talk we focus on the implementation of some of these procedures within a dynamic graphical environment where a high level of user interaction is available. The development of an X application, XMz, for analyzing multivariate time series is discussed, with emphasis on categorical time series (such as DNA sequences) and the Spectral Envelope methodology.
