Using Genetic Algorithm (GA) For Gene Mapping Problem

Abstract: In this study we introduce genetic algorithm to find the optimal location of genes according to error minimization of their distance. Genetic algorithms have been the subject of considerable interest in recent years because they appear to provide a robust search procedure for solving difficult higher dimensional problems. Since genetics problems can sometimes be treated rigorously, as when manipulation of genetic symbols is called for. But usually it is preferable to invoke method that takes into account experimental error. Minimizing such error is not an easy task and for this reason we suggest GA search procedures for the locations for minimal error.
