MATH 210 GRADING
EXAMS:
Be prepared to present your student id at the exams.
- Exam 1: Wednesday, September 24
- Exam 2: Friday, October 17
- Exam 3: Friday, November 14
- Final: Thursday, December 11, Noon - 1:50 P.M.
GRADING:
Grades will be assigned on the basis of 600 points as follows:
- A: 510 B: 450 C: 390 D: 330
- Three 15-question multiple choice exams worth 90 points each.
- Comprehensive 25-question multiple choice final exam worth 150 points
- Homework, 50 points total
- Recitation Quizzes, 100 points total
- Class Attendance, 30 points total.
HOMEWORK:
- Each will be graded out of two points based on EFFORT:
2: Essentially complete, 1: Partially
attempted, 0: Not a serious attempt.
- At least five homework scores will be dropped with the remainder scaled to a score out of 50.
- Each question should be stated so that the homework is readable without the text.
- Copying from the solutions manual or merely giving a numeric answer without justification
will receive no credit.
- No late homework will be accepted.
RECITATION QUIZZES: Given weekly.
- Each recitation quiz will be graded out of ten points.
- At least three quiz scores will be dropped with the remainder scaled to a score out of 100.
- No makeup quizzes will be given.
CLASS ATTENDANCE: A student may collect as many as 30 points
by attending lectures. There is 1 point awarded for each lecture attended with review sessions
and exams excluded.
MAKEUPS: Students who are unable to take an exam because of
documented illness or other unusual circumstances may request a make-up exam.
For reasons other than a medical or other emergency, the instructor's
permission must be obtained prior to the time of the regular exam. Athletes must give
advance written notification of any absence to Prof. Linnér, signed by their coach or other athletics official,
giving specific times of the mandated absence with their name explicitly
listed.
