Technicalities

Earlier (pre-1979) pictures were taken with a Soviet Zenit B, and with a Praktica SLR. The only films available to me then were the East German ORWO, which were decent, and a Polish 400 ASA film (mediocre).

Between 1979 and 1984 I used the lovely Pentax ME Super with a 50/1.8, 40/2.8, and 80-200/4 lenses. After two of them (and the lenses) were stolen in quick succession, I switched to Olympus; I use OM-2s, OM-4T bodies (and sometimes an OM-10) with several lenses. I also take my old Bronica S2A with me more and more these days.

The favorite films include Kodachrome 64, Plus-X, Tri-X, and Ilford HP-5, developed in D-76 or Rodinal. The prints were all made on Kodak Polycontrast RC or Ilford Multigrade-III and developed in Dektol.

I welcome all criticisms and/or suggestions from anyone who bothers to look at these pictures. Please send them to behr@math.niu.edu. Thanks for visiting!
