Wigilia is eaten after sundown on Christmas Eve. INGREDIENTS (Serves 4-6) 6 cups boiling water 1 tsp salt 3 cups egg noodles 2 Tbsp butter, melted 12 oz poppy seed cake and pastry filling 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp lemon juice 11/2 tsp grated lemon peel 1/3 cup raisins PROCEDURE (1) Combine boiling water and salt in a large sau- cepan. Add noodles and cook until tender, then drain and cool. (2) Toss noodles with butter in the saucepan. (3) Combine poppy-seed filling with vanilla extract, lemon juice and lemon peel, and raisins. Add to noodles and mix well. Cook just until heated through. RATING Difficulty: easy. Time: 30 minutes. Precision: Approximate measurement OK.
