I guess that I am the most qualified to answer that (:-) The first printing (not edition) of my book was published in August 1993 and contained about 150 algorithms for number theory, many of which were in part or completely new. Thus there was bound to be a number of errors. A 13 page errata and addenda sheet describing the corrections to the first printing is available by anonymous ftp (see below). Apart from minor typos, a few mathematical errors of little importance, there were only 2 of the 150 algorithms which were seriously wrong. The first is Algorithm 1.7.4 on prime power detection, the second is Algorithm 5.4.1 (Shanks's Baby-step Giant-Step method). The corrections to these two algorithms, as well as all the other errata were included in the second printing. The first printing was sold out in the fall of 1994, hence the second printing was introduced in December 1994. Unfortunately, Springer-Verlag had asked for my corrections in May, hence I was not able to include some additional corrections of much lesser importance. These are available as an additional 6 pages. Note however that most of these pages are addenda, and not errata. To summarize, please ftp from megrez.math.u-bordeaux.fr, directory pub/cohenbook, the files errata2all.xxx and errata3.xxx. Here xxx is tex (AmsTeX), dvi or ps. errata2all gives errata and addenda for the first printing, and errata3 for the second printing. Henri Cohen
