Just build them up backwards, by placing pairs of tiles. I don't know which, if any, PC versions do this. I've got a Java game called Blockbuster on my site http://indigo.ie/~gerryq/ that works this way. Every game is winnable. Very similar to Tai Pai but the rules are a little different. In Take Two, you get only one level of tiles (no vertical stacking as far as I can tell; I've been past level 10) and you may remove *any* two tiles that match as long as you are able to connect these two tiles with an imagineary line with no more than two right-angle bends in it. (the line starts out projecting from the edge of a tile) you get a time limit for each board and a few hints if you need them. Highly recommended. :-) -- Douglas Zander | Watch "FarScape" on the SciFi Channel dzander@solaria.sol.net | Fridays 7:00pm Central Shorewood, Wisconsin, USA | From dzander@solaria.sol.net Wed May 31 14:07:21 2000 Received: from mail2.sol.net (mail@mail2.sol.net [206.55.64.73]) by mail.math.niu.edu (8.9.1a/8.9.1) with ESMTP id OAA18123 for ; Wed, 31 May 2000 14:07:20 -0500 (CDT) Received: from solaria.sol.net (solaria.sol.net [206.55.65.75]) by mail2.sol.net (8.8.8/8.8.8/SNNS-1.02) with ESMTP id OAA12321 for ; Tue, 31 May 1994 14:23:09 -0500 (CDT) Received: (from dzander@localhost) by solaria.sol.net (8.8.8/8.8.8/SNNS-1.02) id OAA07114 for rusin@vesuvius.math.niu.edu; Wed, 31 May 2000 14:07:33 -0500 (CDT) From: Douglas Zander Message-Id: <200005311907.OAA07114@solaria.sol.net> Subject: no subject (file transmission) To: rusin@vesuvius.math.niu.edu Date: Wed, 31 May 0 14:07:31 CDT X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4dev PL65] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text Status: RO To: rusin@vesuvius.math.niu.edu (Dave Rusin) Subject: Re: Mahjongg (Solitaire computer game) Newsgroups: rec.games.abstract Organization: Solaria Public Access UNIX - Milwaukee, WI X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL1] I believe this game is more commonly known as "taipei". If you like this game then you may like the other versions. I believe there are at least three different versions of "taipei" that are available. Here are some links to check out. Some of these are commercial and some are for Windows 3.1.
