The new edition will have four volumes, each corresponding to one part (i.e., one-half volume) of the old edition. Some copies of volume 2 of the old edition can still be found by booksellers who search diligently enough. Volume 1 is much rarer. For those who can't wait, a RINGBOUND edition of Part 1 plus chapter 16 is available immediately, for $20, from my secretary, Debbie Craig, at craig@math.berkeley.edu This is mostly a xerox copy which I've been using as classnotes, but it ALSO contains a few pages of COLORED appendix which reproduce, in shrunken images, all color figures found anywhere else therein, so that if you trouble deciphering the various shades of gray in any particular figure, you can look up the same figure and find it in color at the end of the ringbound edition.
