Built-in planetary series have arcsecond precision. Program reads ASCII file catalogues of stars and orbital elements, displays all adjustments as it finds local azimuth and elevation, rise and set times, etc. Archive contains MSDOS executable and C source code. Known compatible systems: MSDOS (Borland C, Microsoft C, DJGCC), Sun (Solaris, SunOS), Silicon Graphics, Alpha/OSF, VAX (VMS CC), Linux, GNU GCC. Changes: Version 5.3 incorporates new trigonometric expansions for positions of the Moon and planets, adjusted for a best fit to JPL's DE404 ephemeris. Precision ranges from about 0.1" for the Earth to 1" for Pluto. The lunar ephemeris maintains 0.1' precision to 3000 B.C. Freeware. Uploaded by the author. Steve Moshier moshier@world.std.com
