Journal of Spectral Mathematics and Applications

(J. Spectral Math. Appl.)

Aims and Scope

The Journal of Spectral Mathematics and Applications is an international journal and publishes original research papers in mathematics which study or use spectra. Topics covered by the Journal include, but are not limited to: numerical computations of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of large matrices and applications in control theory; spectra of random matrices; eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of ordinary differential equations, dynamic equations on time scales, partial differential equations, integral equations, etc.; spectra of operators in Hilbert spaces, Krein spaces, Banach spaces, etc.; spectral integrals and spectral theorems; Weyl functions and applications to spectra; spectra of operators on graphs; spectra of operators on manifolds; Fucik spectra and applications to nonlinear differential equations; dependence of the spectrum of a spectral problem on (the parameters defining) the problem; numerical approximations of spectra; eigenfunction expansions; methods for deriving orthogonal polynomials and wavelets from eigenfunctions; isospectral problems; inverse spectral problems; and other applications of spectra in mathematics, science and engineering. The Journal also accepts survey articles of high quality.

The standard refereeing procedure will be strictly followed. In most cases, a first decision on a submission will be made within six months from the receipt of the submission.

The Journal publishes one regular volume (not divided into issues) in each year, and every accepted contribution appears in the Journal immediately upon its acceptance and the transfer of copyright. Regular volumes of the Journal are published in electronic form only, and special volumes may be published in both electronic and printed forms. The electronic form is available online at http://www.math.niu.edu/JSMA/ free of charge.
